Materials Scientist and Design Engineer, Calvin Williams has worked across a broad spectrum of industries, pioneering breakthrough chassis design and vehicle handling with associated Patents. His varied skillset is an applied asset in STEM education where he has worked as a dynamic and engaging lecturer for the majority of his career.


Calvin Williams was awarded a Fellowship to the New Engineering Foundation, for his work in designing test equipment for aircraft wings. He has also set a new 24 hr World Record for downhill mountain biking with disabled athletes, using bikes and suspension systems designed and manufactured by himself and his team. Projects have extended to working in a range of elite sports and motorsports, including the design of training products for Team GB Gymnastics and electronic data loggers for race cars. He has also spearheaded technical projects for organisations including P&O, British Steel (now TATA), Delta Crompton Cables, ICI chemicals, Airbus UK, Forestry Commission, Orange Mountain Bikes, Hope Tech and the UK Paralympic Association.


Through the medium of Welsh and English Calvin Williams is a skilled educator to all student capabilities. Having taught in science and engineering-based subjects for over 20 years in Secondary, Further and Higher education, across roles including Curriculum Coordination, Teacher Training and External Examiner.
