Talk: The secret life of flies

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2025.
From mosquitoes and midges to robber flies and fungus gnats, Diptera are among the most diverse and ecologically significant insects on the planet.
Follow Dr Erica McAlister, a Senior Curator at the Natural History Museum, into the fascinating world of flies — from their roles in ecosystems and disease transmission to their surprising beauty and complexity. It promises to be buzzing celebration of all things fly, and why these tiny creatures matter more than you might think.
