Summer Science Exhibition Lates

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2025

An evening of science, comedy, storytelling and discovery - exclusively for adults.

Join us for the Royal Society’s adults-only Summer Science Lates, where science meets comedy, performance and play. Explore cutting-edge research through the 13 main exhibits and a rich programme of talks, hands-on activities, and immersive experiences - all in a relaxed, after-hours setting filled with ideas, surprises, and inspiration.

Delve into the cosmic mysteries of black holes with astrophysicist Manda Banerji, or uncover how plants know when to grow up with developmental biologist Jim Fouracre. Discover how diseases spread through social networks in the interactive Nergal game, laugh with scientists-turned-comedians in our science comedy cabaret, or explore your beliefs with political psychologist Leor Zmigrod, a pioneer in the field of ideological neuroscience.

And don’t miss the Quantum Jungle - a glowing art–science installation by Robin Baumgarten that brings quantum physics to life through light, springs, and sound. There’s plenty more to explore throughout the building, including drop-in activities, informal talks, and relaxing spaces to enjoy a drink and conversation.

A bar will be open throughout the evening, with drinks and themed cocktails available for purchase.
