Talk: Other worlds

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2025.
Planet Earth is the planet we know best but in the last twenty years, astronomers have discovered more than six thousand planets orbiting stars other than our Sun. From huge balls of gas orbiting their host-stars in hours to tiny lumps of rock orbiting small red stars, these exoplanets reveal worlds vastly different from our own home planet.
Join Royal Society Research Fellow and astronomer at the University of Cambridge Dr Amy Bonsor for a journey of discovery as we reveal how astronomers search for planets beyond the Solar System.
