Naturalist’s sojourns in Jamaica and Lincolnshire

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2025.
Drop in to this hands-on citizen science session with the Sir Joseph Banks Society, funded by the Places of Science grant scheme. Try activities like plant identification, collection, illustration, and photography.
Discover how these skills have evolved by comparing your work with that of Richard Hill, a remarkable naturalist from 200 years ago. Richard Hill was a prominent Black abolitionist and naturalist born in Jamaica, educated in Lincolnshire, and connected to famous figures like Joseph Banks and Charles Darwin.
Come and dive into history, nature, and science all in one fun, interactive drop-in.
